Signs You May Need Emergency Dental Care

- Severe Pain – this is a sign of infection that may require antibiotics as well as pain relief medication

- Accident – an injury to your mouth/jaw should be seen immediately

- Cracked or Chipped Tooth - it may not seem serious, but ignoring a small crack or chip in your tooth can create larger dental issues

- Lost Tooth – assuming it was a permanent tooth, there’s a possibility the tooth could be saved if seen in time.

- Excessive bleeding - this may be due to gum disease, an accident or any number of other causes

- Pus or Infection – this type of infection could actually spread if ignored

I did a general examination today. Dr. Chelssia Thomas and hygienists are very professional. I'm an amateur but with their detailed explanation, I have a good grasp of the conditions of my teeth now. Sandra and Jo are very helpful and informative. I'm usually scared of seeing a dentist but here I feel lower levels of pressure and anxiety. Anyway, I really recommend this provider.

My experience at Dentists of Silver Spring was pleasant, especially because I had the pleasure of having an amazing staff named Ayana. Ayana was such a delight to interact with that I had to stop myself from having to keep her longer than she needed to attend to me. There was never a dull moment while interacting with Ayana, & a major part of our conversation that I appreciated was how attentive she was to my needs & concerns. She made sure to jot down exactly what I had concerns about, so that the Dentist could discuss further steps with me upon our meet. I would definitely like to have Ayana as a continued part of my care team & also appreciate every other staff member, particularly my Dentist - Kathleen Lu who took very good care of me & ensured that my concerns were addressed.
